This game will be between Soldiers of the Michigan National Guard and the Oakland University Hockey team The proceeds from this game will be donated the the Yellow Ribbon Fund.

During the 1st Intermission there will be a special tribute to the Soldiers in attendance who are set to deploy to Afghanistan.

The Yellow Ribbon Fund was created to provide support for injured service Personnel returning home, and being treated at military hospitals such as Walter Reed Army, Bethesda Navel, and others with traumatic wounds sustained in the field of battle.  The Yellow Ribbon Fund meets a tremendous range of critical and specific needs that fall outside the mandate of the nation’s military medical and rehabilitation facilities.  These needs include long and short-term housing for the families of injured service members, transportation, recreation, entertainment, mentoring and internships, holiday meals, and simple companionship during medical treatment and rehabilitation – which often takes months or years and is often grueling and isolating.  Above all, the Yellow Ribbon Fund brings to these injured men and women elements of a normal life with the aim of speeding their recovery.  To find out more about the Yellow Ribbon Fund please visit http://www.YellowRibbonFund.org

The organizers of this event are Tom Ciosek of Lakeside Advantage Mortgage, Vito A. Pampalona & Karen Head of Vito Anthony Homes, Michael St. John of Expetec Technology Services of Rochester Hills, and Vito M. Pampalona of Rochester.
